Tortuga Setout Divide Quicklook

I have been a big fan of Tortuga's bags for a long time. In the past I have tested out their Outbreaker Travel Backpack and their packable day pack and I have always been impressed with how well designed and comfortable they are able to make their bags. So when I heard about their brand new  Tortuga Setout Divide backpack I was super excited as it seemed to provide the perfect mix of space and features to make a great day bag and travel bag (the first real competitor to the Nomatic Travel Pack) while also including the same quality and comfort that I have come to expect from Tortuga's other awesome bags. I have been testing the bag out for the past couple of weeks and so far I have been super impressed with the Setout Divide and I definitely plan to continue to use it for many trips going forward. Pros

Size

• With a capacity of 26L when compressed and 34L when expanded the bag offers the perfect mixture of sizes to use for both traveling and daily use

Comfort

• ​With a very well padded set of backpack straps, an injection foam back panel, and a great set of removable waist straps this is definitely one of the most comfortable bags I have worn in recent memory

Organization

• With an elevated laptop sleeve, a quick access compartment on the front, and a large accessory pocket filled with tons of internal organization, the Tortuga Setout Divide has just the right of organization to give everything its own spot without going overboard

Style

• The minimal styling and sleek heather grey exterior give this bag a great look that works well in a variety of environments

Price / Value

• At $179 this bag is a steal! To top it off, it even includes an awesome pair of removable waist straps!

Cons

Zippers

• Even though the bag has some high quality YKK zippers I was sad to see they don't have any sort of water guard or covering to help add extra protection against water similar to the zippers on the Tortuga Outbreaker or something like the Aer Travel Pack.

Summary

9/10: Overall, I have been super impressed with how comfortable and useful the Tortuga Setout Divide has been for traveling and for daily use. I think Tortuga has done a great job of creating a versatile bag that will work for people who are looking for that one bag they can use for almost everything and despite a small con with the lack of water resistance on the zippers I think this is definitely a bag worth checking out!
