The Ridge has become well-known for their super durable and minimal EDC wallets, but they have quickly expanded their product line to include a variety of items to help simplify your day to day. We recently reviewed their excellent Weatherproof Commuter backpack and now we have had a chance to test out their Summit Knife, Leather Keychain, and Phone Card Case. Overall, the products have been great and maintain the simplicity and build quality of the original Ridge wallet. Read on to see our thoughts while testing the Summit Knife, Card Case, and Leather Keychain.

The Ridge Card Case

As I have looked to minimize the number of things I carry with me as part of my EDC I had always been curious about phone cases that could maybe replace my wallet. The Phone Card Case offers a great look and build quality in a case that manages to stay pretty slim. I don't know if I can fully replace my wallet with it just yet, but this is definitely a compelling option.
Pros:
  • Great looking leather
  • Feels well built and offers a nice amount of protection
  • Offered for a variety of iPhone sizes and models
  • Pretty slim design for a case
Cons:
  • Can only hold a few cards
  • Can be a little difficult to get cards out quickly when breaking in the case
  • A little bit hard to get the case on and off the phone

The Summit Knife

I have always been a fan of pocket knives and always have one as part of my EDC. As much as I like having a pocket knife with me, it sometimes felt a little strange to have one when i was wearing a nicer outfit or in my work office. Those feelings disappeared however when I saw the sleek and simple design of the Summit knife and it has been great to have a reliable knife like this that manages to blend in well in pretty much any outfit or environment that I might find myself in.
Pros:
  • Minimalist design allows this to work well with a bunch of different outfits
  • Solid build quality and sharpness
  • Fantastic deep carry clip that doesn't mark up my pants
Cons
  • A little expensive
  • Doesn't appear to work well for left-handed users

The Leather Keychain

Managing my key setup has always been a bit of a headache as I have tried to simplify my daily carry. I have experimented with many of the newer key organizers that have come out, but I still haven't found something that works and looks quite as good as an old school leather keychain. As far as leather keychains go, this option from the Ridge has been great to use and it has what I would say is an ideal length and a great and easy to use clip making this one of my new, go-to options.
Pros:
  • Beautiful leather design
  • Great length that isn't too long, but still long enough to tuck keys into my pocket if needed
  • Sturdy and easy to use clip
  • Offered in different colors

Cons:
  • Can be a little bit hard to get keys on and off
