Fjallraven Skule 28 vs Raven 28: What’s the Difference?

11/28/2022

In this video we will be comparing the Fjallraven Skule 28 and Raven 28 backpacks. Both provide a decent amount of space, a solid build quality, plenty of organization and comfortable harness systems, but there are some slight differences that might make one better than the other depending on your needs.

Key Differences:

  • Fabric: Raven has G1000 fabric vs Polyester on the Skule (G1000 feels a little more robust)
  • Harness: Skule harness feels more breathable and it includes a removable waist belt and sternum strap, but the Raven has a more rigid framesheet
  • Laptop Protection: Skule laptop sleeve is integrated into the main compartment and is not fleece lined (works well for holding a water bladder) whereas the Raven has a separate laptop pocket (which is easier to access) and it has a soft lining to protect against scratching
  • Organization: Skule has a simpler layout overall with less pockets, but it has bungee cord on the front and compression straps on the sides for additional flexibility whereas the Raven has more internal organizational options
  • Side pockets: Both bags have pockets on the sides, but the Skule pockets offer more flexibility and grip for larger bottles whereas the pockets on the Raven are more fixed in their volume
