4 MUST Have Features to Look For in Your Next EDC Backpack

In this video I will be discussing 4 key features that I am starting to pay a lot more attention to when evaluating a new bag. Some of these may feel obvious and some may not apply to everyone, but if you are in the market for a new bag make sure to think about whether any of these is critical for how you plan on using your backpack. 

Key Features Summarized

• Self Standing: bag should be able to easily stand on it's own
• Luggage passthrough orientation: luggage passthrough orientation should match pocket layout of the bag so that you can access everything while the bag is on your luggage
• Dedicated laptop compartment: although some bags have great laptop sleeves integrated into the main area, for me it is important that the laptop be a dedicated compartment to make it easier to get it into and out of the bag and to prevent other items from bumping into the laptop 
• External water bottle pockets: many modern bags have eliminated or come up with alternative solutions to handling water bottles, but I still find the classic external style pockets very useful for easy access to water and to hold other items that I don't have space for inside my bag
